How long has Welcome Wagon been around?
OVER 65 YEARS. Our service was inspired by the frontier settlers
greeting new pioneer families on the praries. We revived this
tradition in Canada in 1930 with our first Hostess and her basket.
Welcome Wagon is now Canada's largest and most respected greeting
service operating from coast to coast in every province and the
Territories.
Is Welcome Wagon a volunteer organization?
YES and NO. As a volunteer community service we represent many civic and cultural organizations, and carry their information. We are a business though, based on service and dedicated to boosting LOCAL merchants and services.
Does Welcome Wagon really bring gifts?
YES! They are not lavish gifts but a useful and introductory token from each merchant and business. We do not sell thjings door to door. A Welcome Wagon Representative can always be identified by: (a) The Basket (b) The official badge or pin and (c) The Community Service Information.
Can I request a Welcome Wagon visit or invitation?
YES, PLEASE DO. Lots of families let us know before they move,
or on arrival at their new address.
Brides-to-be: On announcement of your engagement, so that we
can invite you to our next Bridal Showcase.
If there is a baby on the way: Either before or right after the
happy event.
New businesses, new executives: As soon as possible , so that
we can deliver our and everyone's congratulations.
