Halloween Night

Fireworks will again light up the sky as the Lavington Volunteer Fire Department showcases this spectacular event on Halloween Night, Tuesday, October 31. The Fireworks will be bigger and better than ever, so come on out and gather around the bonfire with your friends and neighbors. Watch out for the donation jars that have been set out at local businesses.
The Concession opens at 6:00 P.M. serving Hot Dogs, French Fries, Hot Chocolate & Coffee. Fireworks display will start at 7:30 P.M.

See You All On Halloween Night!

Community Safety Issues

Citizens On Patrol has been in place for the last five months and the Community would like to thank the volunteers for their time. The time and effort on their part seems to have made a difference in the amount of graffiti and property damage in the area. New training sessions for the Lavington/Coldstream/Vernon Area are held every few months. If you are interested in volunteering call Corrine Ross @ 542-3011 or Jerry McCrae @ 545-7161.

At our Lavington Community Association Meeting last Thursday, the issue of skateboard accidents was raised. There have been several accidents this year, thankfully none too serious. So we would like to remind both parents and skateboarders, about the importance of wearing helmets, knee & wrist protectors when skateboarding.
Also a resident mentioned having to swerve to miss a go-cart when traveling on School Road near Jeffers Park. Please be careful out there.

Lavington Notes

Christmas is right around the corner so it is again time to share our good fortune with others. Santa's Anonymous needs new, used or repairable toys or books to continue donating to needy children in the area. About 800 children received toys for Christmas last year and about 170 receive birthday presents from the charitable organization each year. There will be a donation box set up at Lavington Esso.
For more information: Call Nadine Toop @ 545-8130

The Community Event Sign is in place at the Firehall and will be lit shortly. The sign was provided by funds from Coldstream Municipality, Lavington Volunteer Firefighters and the Community Assn. Thanks to the Firemen for building a mount and putting it in place. Messages for Non-profit organizations are free with a $10 fee for personal messages when space is available.
Call Poppy Peacock @ 545-6412
